Note that Black Hat SEO if often done on Web 2.0 properties and that links from those properties go to the main website. Most Black Hat SEO webmasters never put their website in harms way!

White Hatters maintain that there exists always a danger that a site will fortuitously or on purpose be removed from a search engine's index. They go on to say that Black Hat approaches will always intensify the possibility that a site will be deliberately deleted from a search engine's index. Nice fear tactic but this is certainly erroneous. If I apply an automated bookmark bot to submit my blog to, there is no way Google can or will sandbox me. These are false assertions promoted by White Hat SEO people. More often than not these companies employ all kinds of automated software themselves. Admittedly, you'll find black hat methods if not done correctly will put your website in danger.

White hat practitioners declare they they regularly work with their client's main domain only. They may well suggest a promise that the domain won't be deliberately removed from a search engine's index as a result of using their procedures. However, what about using blogs from blogging sites similar to Ning, Blogger and Wordpress as an illustration to market your website. How about building those blogs up in addition to linking them to your website. Is that Blackhat? Of course not. White Hat SEO people hold their own agenda propagating this kind of nonsense. They want to scare newbies into doing business with them.
